How do people play music etc through their mics?
I've been playing on PC for about 7 years now and I still have no idea how people manage that. Dunno what programs they use or anything

I know some just bring their phone up to their mic but that's not the same thing really

They use a little thing called "soundboard".

I don't know specific names of softwares and such. The ones I know are Soundpad (available on steam) and EXP Soundboard.

Soundpad is a little more user friendly, but is paid. You can get a demo, but you will have to restart the program after playing sounds for a few times.

EXP Soundboard is free and you don't need to restart the program, but it is much harder to get it working.

Good? No lol. Soundpad demo is the closest to being a good free one but jeezus christ its annoying.
If this helps, I seen soundpad go on sale for 1 dollar before

Soundboards, such as soundpad

I use SimpleSoundboard that is completely free, literaly just have what you need (you choose, what audiofile should be played and a key to play it) + it's velocity.

Try it first before you buy anything, if you want it just for a game
There is a good free alternative [github.com] but it's much less user friendly than Soundpad

I put a rock on Q to hold it down, I get my piano and I play the music.

After playing a sound 3 or 4 times, it'll make you restart the entire program

im pretty sure the actual count is around 10. i use it occasionally myself and as long as you dont feel the need to button mash it it does just fine.

this is false you could just have a tab open in their browser that most likely has sound in background on allowing them to use a mic built into their computer or take thier headphones off and put their mic into the headphones
