They do sound scarier, the also sound about 20x more overfiltered then other 096 screams. They are literally described in the lore as "Just like human screams" so I have no idea why NW went the "Hey lets put on a billion filters" route, but I still like how they sound either way.

Because that's what people wanted. I really feel like the scream should be made less edited.

the reason they went that route is because everyone cried about the less edited scream. so blame them.
