Controlls and tips for 079
079 can be very disoreanting when you start as it the first time so here is a rundown of what it does, how to play, and a few tips.

Power

Power is what 079 uses to do things without power he can't even change cameras. It is your most important resorce as the computer and should' nt be used willy nilly.

Basic Movement and Actions

To change which camera you are looking through use you mouse and move over the camra icon. There is anouther way to move and that is by using the survalence map, you can use this by pressing Tab and clicking the room you want to go to. The map will show you a layout of the entire floor you are on with label apropriet rooms. To move to diffrent floors you go to the appropret elivator then click on the label with that zone on it. To move between the checkpoints at heavy containment and the entrence zone you will have to click on the cameras icons in the other room, then you will be able to use the survalence map to navigate that level. (Remember that Heavy containment and the Entrence zone have diffrent maps). You can open, close, and lock doors to help deal with kiters, runners, and the like. You can activate tesla gates to kill people. You can talk to normies if you click on the speaker that is usualy in every important location like 914.

Generators

Generators are used to recontain you as 079 after they have all been activated you have one minute to cause as much havoc before you die. These objects are attached to the walls of specific locations in Heavy Containment. There are allways five generators. Here is a list of places I have found them: inside the nuke room, outside the elivator of 049's contaiment chambers, next to tesla gates, outside 096's contaiment chambers, next to the cheackpoint, outside 106's chambers, next to the ammo room, and in the room where 939 spawns.

Ways to deal with Generators

There are four ways to deal with gerators. In order for a generator to be disabled a player will have to press E on the big, red, flashing botton to turn it off. Here are some of the basic ways to deal with these life ending threats. Generators that are turning on will apear red on your servalence map.

(1) Convince a passerby to dissingage it for you. Some generators have a speaker next to them so if a d-boy is passing by you can forge a alliance (however temperary) and get them to disable it.

(2) Lead an SCP to the gerator and get them to disarm it. The dog(939) will need help because he is collor blind.

(3) Premtive strike: Some generators will be next to tesla gates so if you see someone who is a threat you can deal with it (Providing you have enough power it takes 50 power to use it)

(4) Let it run: Yes, this may sound counterintuetive, but these things can help you if you let them engage. When a generator engages it will boost the rate of power regeneration, so you could let easy to reach places like at the cheackpoint engage so you can be more effective and guard ones that are in defendable places like in 096's chambers.

The Servalence Map

This is an extreamly important tool in your arsenel as 079 and makes you life so much easier. Not only does it make moving around easir it allows you to guide your teamates to important objectives like 914. All you have to do is get your teamates location and lead them there. No more aimlessly wandering around for them! The map also lets you cut off peaple easir and get to the tesla gates to rack in that jucy xp.

Leveling up

As 079 you can level up. You can get XP by doing random things like opening, closing, and locking doors. There is a better way to get XP and that is by helping your teamates, and getting assits kills. This happens when you lock a door next to a soon to be victum or opening an otherwise locked door. When you level up you get increased power generation and a bigger battery.

Tips

Sherperd your teamates to your objectives it helps a lot when they know where they are going.

When you open the blast doors of to 914 lock the door leading to it so that nobody gets out and you teamates can kill everyone.

Ask 096 to NOT destroy all the doors so that you will still be usefull later in the game.

Use the speakers if you can. You can turn the d-boys and scientist against each other in 914 if one of them has a gun and you make some promises.

Conclusion

079 is a support role you can only do good as the computer if you have semi-compitent teamates. "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink". There is only so much you can do as 079 if you have horrible teamates. If your team doesn't have mics or refuses to comunicate in any way you are just a waisted slot who is only midly annoying. (please exuse the horrible spelling that is in this page)

One last thing
As a general rule: NEVER kill teamates on tesla gates!

I understand that some off this is just restating what is on the mega patch notes. But I have seen many people on the discusion form complain about it who apparently have sellective reading issues. Some of it contains things that the mega patch notes don't have and comes from playing 079(Over 6 times it seams whenever I am an SCP I only get the computer).

Great thread, but I doubt the people complaining about 079 being hard to play will read it.

Nice post, however does anybody know if you get disabled after the nuke has been activated? I cannot seem to open/lock doors or do anything useful when the countdown has been initiated

You can't disable the nuke and you die whenever it goes off. You still should be able to use the doors though when the countdown is going on though. If it isn't working it is a glich or you just haven't died yet.
