Can you kill 079 by shooting him?

I got into 079's chamber shot it and threw a grenade into it's cage, it didn't kill it. I haven't tried killing it this way on any other servers so I don't know if this is just specific to the server I was playing on or is just how it works in every server. I remember back before he was redone this was how you killled it, I'd just like to know if this something you can still do

you cannot kill him by shooting, you should activate 5 generators in HCZ to kill SCP 079

It's probably because so many people get high level cards it would be easier to just kill him by shooting him, rather then going throgh the long process of turning on 5 generators, making him to easy to kill. I would howerver much rather put this heretical AI down with my gun

First of all,
You don't kill an AI by shooting its 'body', since it can easily find another power supply.

Second of all,
That would be EXTREMELY unfair, for 079 and for the rest of the SCPs. D-Class and Scientists can easily get an O5 keycard (if they have the time). Security guards can easily get a commander keycard by going to the server room, grabbing a senior guard keycard and then going to 096.

You could do this before he was reworked, second of all commander cards can't open 079's containment.

You can't kill 079 with bullets because his AI is all over the facility. Not only his computer.
