It's just a minor detail. I don't care about whether the restroom is for men or women, although it would be a nice touch to move either the gun or the keycard into a second bathroom somewhere else in light containment. A change like that would add to your chances of survival as you might just be able to find an unlooted restroom (as they would be in separate locations)

Site-69 has the lowest budget, as such most women moved to other sites like Site-17. Before the containment breach, all women have left due to: parnoia, medical issues, low pay and several accounts of pedophilia.

Not only gender, but species too, there are 2 male SCPs (049 and 106) and the other SCPs are not human.

I saw once a character customization option in the start screen, but it was removed after 1.0.0, I can't remeber when it was removed, but I have been playing SCP-SL since the first version, and I'm sure I saw a customization option.

You used to be able to customize characters and you could choose betwen male or female (and other things like hair and hats). I think a reworked version of this will be coming back but not for some time.
