Here's my list of reasons why I hate the tesla gate:

It serves no purpose

Why is it important? When posts like this come up, people tend to tell you to 'git gud' which is avoiding the question: why are they there in the first place?

It's harsh to newcomers

Noobs want to learn how to escape, not how to die to a wall repeatidly until they 'git gud'.

There's lag

You could be 100% perfect at getting through tesla gates, but lag at the wrong time. This means it wasn't your fault but now you're dead.

They're unoriginal

They're just copied from SCP:CB, and Hubert has said he wants to distance himself from it.

They are graveyards

How many people have you seen dead on them? How much more interesting would it be if those people were alive?

I'm sure there's 1000 more reasons that I can't think of right now. I'll edit it and add them as I think of them.

these points are stupid heres why

1. they do serve a purpose they are the computers only weapon and they give scps the chance to catch up

2. "im new to this game so im too stupid to walk through the laser gate when its off"

3. yeah thats not their problem when your internet dies thats not a reason to remove them

4. the whole game is a containment breach copy the scp abilities the map everything

5. wat

1. The computer is out of the game, and the computer is going to have other abilities that will make him stronger.

2. They need to learn. You might get annoyed at the game seeing that you die because you didn't know, and therefore ragequit. We need to grow the community, not annoy the new-comers.

3. Why should we have an object that kills people unfairly? I mean, technically, no suggestion is their problem. But they listen because to make the game better they have to listen to the people who play it.

4.

Hubert has said he wants to distance himself from it. The SCP abilities aren't copies from SCP:CB because SCP:CB didn't let you play as them. And they both stem from the same website, SCP.

5. How many times have you laughed because of a death? IE, "I didn't notice they were chaos" or "It was 939". How many times have you been frustrated because of a tesla gate death?

And your points are even more stupid:

1. SCP 079 isnt even in the game anymore, so whats the point of having "the computers only weapons" when hes not even in the game. Also, SCPs are slower than humans (except sprinting 939 and raging 096, 173 teleports, and if hes hurt badly he could teleport into the gate), so from what I've seen throughout all my games, is people quickly running through the gates, and then the SCP has to walk towards the gate, wait for it to activate once, and then walk through it. The gates legit waste the SCPs time more than they help.

2. If someone has never seen any footage about this game, and hasn't played SCP:CB (Hi, that was me couple months ago) they will just see those weird things next to the wall, and try to sprint through them because they have no idea what they are. Yes, they will learn after their first or 10th death, but that's still something very annoying to deal with if youre new to the game.

3. I live in the UK and I play on a UK server. On that server, my ping goes from 80ms to 230 ms, and the ping always changes. And this isnt my connection, as everyone on that server always complains about the lag and the horrible connection. If youre from EU, playing on an NA server, then it is your fault, but if youre playing on a server that supposedly set where you live, and you have connection issues, even though on other UK servers Im fine, then its the servers issue and not the players.

4. (Wont really talk about this as I have no idea what Hubert had in mind when making this, but yes, this does appear to be a copy of SCP:CB)

5. What hes saying is that imagine all those dead people that died to a tesla being alive. The game would be more interesting as those SCPs, DBoys, Scientist, or whoever died there would still be alive, and the game would be a bit more intense. For example, if that 096 or 939 wouldnt have died to that tesla gate, and he wouldve been alive, the game wouldve been a bit more challenging and more fun. I think its unfair to have one of the SCPs die at the beginning of the game to a tesla, especially if the map layout has put 2 tesla gates right next to each other. For example, an 096 spawned in his room, and outside he can either go forward or left. He opens the left door and sees a tesla gate, he slowly goes back to the other door to check whats that way, but upon opening it, he sees another tesla gate. 096 is now trapped by 2 tesla gates thanks to RNG. He can try and walk through one of them, but because of his low speed, chances are he will die and thats one less SCP throughout the whole game, giving the SCP team a disadvantage, and having an extra NTF/CI spawn in. Not to mention now he'll have to spectate until he can respawn, IF he can respawn, because if too many people die, RNG may kick him in the balls once again and he will be forced to spectate once again.

For four, Hubert has said he wants to distance himself from SCP:CB in any way he can. IE removing an annoying feature that made sense in SCP:CB but not in SCP:SL.

But it takes time to learn how to walk through them. Every time it happens that's another annoyance that might lead people to get so annoyed with the game that they quit. Every other death happens randomly.

And, all the other points still hold up.

you literally stand there for 10 seconds and there you go, pattern acknowledged. a self-inflicted death is easier to cope with than a 'random' death

Fair enough. But again, all other points still hold up.

Hint for 939's:
Walk sideways.
Sayo Jul 6, 2018 @ 12:24pm
as 939 i find it easy to pass through teslas. It's pretty easy actually. You just have to time it :>
Please, remove tesla gates.

Here's my list of reasons why I hate the tesla gate:

It serves no purpose

Why is it important? When posts like this come up, people tend to tell you to 'git gud' which is avoiding the question: why are they there in the first place?

The computer is out of the game and he will have other features when he comes back (actually quite a lot)

It's harsh to newcomers

Noobs want to learn how to escape, not how to die to a wall repeatidly until they 'git gud'.

There's lag

You could be 100% perfect at getting through tesla gates, but lag at the wrong time. This means it wasn't your fault but now you're dead.

You die

It's not like you lose 50% of your health, or even 99%, no, you die no matter who you are. Unless you were a zombie, nobody likes being a spectator.

SCPs should be difficult

With tesla gates it's just getting them into the correct spot. If you manvour yourself correctly, you've killed an SCP, aka the thing that kills everyone. That's way too OP.

Poor 096

He's so slow, he is almost guarrenteed to die within the first few minutes (unless he find LCZ quickly).

Chases are over

Despite doors being annoying enough for chase sequences, tesla gates can ruin a chase. If at the end there's an X or T junction, you've lost your victim. During all of this, the chaser can die. Don't we want plauge birb to have as many helicopters as he can? He's already really slow. Remember, SCPs are slower than players, so if a player makes it past, the SCP might as well give up.

They're unoriginal

They're just copied from SCP:CB, and Hubert has said he wants to distance himself from it.

They are graveyards

How many people have you seen dead on them? How much more interesting would it be if those people were alive?

They're boring

Which of these deaths is the odd one out:

"I evaded peanut for 5 minutes and then chaos spawned. XD lol"
"So I have no ammo...*crunch*. XD lol"
"*uses intercom* *screams* IT'S 106 AHAHHHHHH. *pants* lol"
"I evaded peanut for 5 minutes and then walked into a tesla gate. *sighs*"

I’d say it’s to make the HCZ more hazardous to navigate. Can’t make ALL the zones a cakewalk, can we?

I think newcomers should have their capabilities respected. We should value challenging gameplay, since overcoming challenges is more rewarding than being handed everything on a silver plate.

Not the devs’ fault, or the players. You could complain about lag for any and every feature. Might as well remove guns because it’s hard to aim when the game lags.

Dying is an integral part of this game. We’ll all be spectators sooner or later. No use letting it get to us just because it happened to be environmental this time around.

This is the one point I can fully agree with. 079 should be able to temporarily disable a Tesla gate so his buddies can pass.

SCPs being slower than players isn’t quite the case. Only 049 is consistently slower. 173 is extremely fast, 939 and 049-2 rival humans in speed, 096 outside of rage has no business chasing humans anyway, and 106 can cross the facility in a matter of seconds using his portal.

Smart players shouldn’t be blamed for using map terrain to their advantage (the way games like this should be played). If a singular SCP player thinks they can catch a fleeing human on their own, and the human gets away, they can only blame themselves for going it alone. There are ways the SCPs can work around this. The strongest one is using their Global Chat to coordinate an ambush (in other words, using map terrain just as well) on a key target.

I’m neutral on this. If the developers remove Tesla gates to avoid looking like “SCP Containment Breach: Battle Royale”, then they should also consider removing keycards from the game in favor of something more unique.

Tesla gates are the opposite of boring. Players cannot afford to be complacent around them.

If you think walking into a Tesla gate is a cheap way to die, then don’t walk into a Tesla gate.

Edit: Fixed tone.

You say that it balances the game a bit in favor of SCPs, yet most of the time tesla gates kill 096 because of his slow speed, or 939 because of his long body... Yep, those tesla gates really help SCPs.

939 is new and this game is still in heavy developement bugs and issues are to be expected .

096 atleast got half the time of the time a gate needs to recharge to move through no issues there.
