Infinite respawn
Is the infinite respawning ever going to be turned off? I'd rather die and wait until the round ends to play than respawn 10 million times until a team wins. This mechanic makes the game so repetitive and dull.

Respawn times are set by the server owner.

I understand that, but I'm talking about the mechanic in general as the game development progresses. I would like to see the game have permanent death each round to make your run more meaningful.

In the future that may or may not be an option but infinate respawn will always be in the game.

That's disappointing to hear.

Your idea for a permadeath is ok. But your at overlooking the fact that if the game has no respawns then players who join late will just have to sit and wait until the round is over, which could take 20mins. Also along with players joining late, what about MTF or CI reinforcements? Without respawns neither of those teams stand a chance at surviving until the end of the round.

Well... Some people prefer to sit 20 minutes than play as bloody useless and painful MTF NTF... (Like me... God... I hate to play as MTF so much...)

For what it's worth, infinite respawns makes sense for the game's lore. If there was a site-wide containment breach as serious as the one in the game, the SCP Foundation would absolutely mobilize every unit possible to try and contain it. Letting most SCPs out temporarily wouldn't be too big a hit, but letting out 096, 106, or (according to SCP:CB's lore) 682? That's absolutely out of the question.

Sure, it can hurt the gameplay experience for some, but there aren't many mechanics that would work well lore-wise other than infinite respawns

Who cares about lore? I'm talking about the gameplay being the best that it can be. When you have infinite respawns every round it makes trying to do anything meaningless. No one ever uses the nuke because the SCPs can always turn it off. The game becomes so pointless with infinite respawns. The SCPs have no chance to survive against infinite enemy waves. It just becomes a matter of whether NTF or Chaos kills each other to see who wins. What is the point of a game like this if that's how every round ends? So boring.

Well.. Devs should add possibility of escaping as SCP...

Just set the respawn timer to stupidly high so no-one gets to respawn, then watch as people complain they haven't respawned for 15 minutes then leave to play somewhere else!
Huge Wiener May 17, 2018 @ 8:35am
Honestly I don't really know where the development of this game is going if the idea of infinite respawn is part of the game's core gameplay. I guess I just thought the game was going to be something more than this, but if people like it this way I'm in the minority.

Welp. I hope they will add possibility to escape as SCP because SCP can do barely nothing on surface more than just camping in a corner or getting gangbanged by tons of MTFs...

SCPs have no chance to win unless they get lucky or they win with Chaos. I hate playing as SCPs because they're slow and always get killed. No point to even trying with the SCPs because of infinite respawn where you will inevitably die to a mob of Chaos or NTF.

I hate to play as SCPs mainly because I played SCP-096 thousand times and ONLY THAT SCP. I have never played as Larry... I never played as Doctor... I never played as Peanut (sadly...)... I haven't even played as SCP-049-2.
But of course nothing will replace my hate towards MTF class...
Huge Wiener May 17, 2018 @ 11:04am
The game needs to be balanced more. I hate that SCPs are so slow and NTF can just pick them off from distance. The only way to be successful is to work together as SCPs, but you will eventually die anyway because of the infinite respawns.
