The reason I don't reply to everyone is that there is often very little to reply to.
Likewise, I do not believe in deleting posts simply because I disagree with what is posted, as I do learn from what people write. In those cases, I just leave them there.
Posts are only deleted if they break Steam's Terms and Conditions, and in that case, my hands are tied.
To be honest, I was going to apply that logic (the do not reply) to this post as well, but I figured that I could use it to explain how I like to work.
Breaking down this post, this is how I see it:
1. Snow obviously feels strongly about what they're writing, or at least strongly enough to take the time to type things up.
2. That's reinforced by the fact that I've seen the same message by Snow (a copy/paste) in other threads.
3. Based on the title and the content of the post, there are several clashing points. They want to report Xsolla, but they urge you to report Life is Feudal: MMO. If you do that, Xsolla are not being reported, you're reporting LTG.
4. Based on what they've written, they feel that some law has been broken and that they have a legal right to the game. Since they do not have access to the game, then they feel justified to take the legal route.
Based on the above (how I see it)
- They're not breaking any Steam terms and conditions,
- They're not insulting anyone
- They are sharing their opinion
This means that I see this as a post where a player is sharing their opinion. What's more, given the subject matter, emotions are likely to run high. With that in mind, it also means that Snow has (specifically to this situation) shared their opinion quite respectfully.
As I wrote earlier, I disagree with deleting posts or censoring people if they simply have a different opinion to me. In the end, you lot (the readers) will come to your own conclusions based on what you read. At no point is it my job, or anyone's in LTG, to be the thought police.
You lot (whoever reads this) will make your own conclusions.
However, when it comes to me doing my job and engaging with you, this thread would normally just be ignored.
If we ignored the reply by Renclave (which prompted this reply), I'd have nothing constructive to add to it as Snow only states his opinion and gives instructions on what to do if you (the reader) agree. However, they've not written any reason for their opinion beyond their (incorrect) assumption that we are here to take your money.
I guess, I could answer with something like:
"If we really wanted your money, we'd have stuck with the F2P model, as F2P almost always makes more money than a subscription game, and if we only cared about money, we'd not have done the whole LiF Coin scheme, since the people who get the most LiF Coins are the people who are most likely to buy a subscription, but instead these players get a year or more of free sub time from us".
However, given the context of what Snow wrote, and the other posts that were made, I do not believe that this would have done anything constructive here.
Addressing the elephant in the room, I did actually end up writing that. However, as I've mentioned a moment ago, this entire post came to be as a result of Renclave's reply.
Trust me when I tell you, 20 years of backing Steam and their policies to boot.
These two Snow and Renclave are in fact breaking the Steams Terms of Service.
Baiting
Spamming
Harassment
Just to name a few violations that I've witnessed in the 15 minutes I've been in these discussions. I can take this directly to Steams Support Staff if you don't wish to enforce the rules.
Remember Steam allows you full authority to police your own area's of Steam on behalf of your area, your game, you're the admin. However it's been directed and explained to you when you were giveth the role that Steam's Policy and Terms of Service takes precedence 100% over your own volition. Steam's desire is to remain neutral and provide you the opportunity to police your own respective area's accordingly. You know this much though.
It's one thing to have an opinion and rightly so. It's another to spam your opinion to the point of harassment with the intent of baiting and flaming other gamers and admins alike. This is by fact a direct violation of Steams Terms of Service and the proper etiquettecy of behavior we all desire.
I will report these two for their violations and allow you to moderate as such;
-Warning for first offenders
-Suspended for repeat offenders
-Banned for repeat offenders
Since you like to elaborate and seem like a fellow who prefers to teach, tell them their violations, show them the rules they agreed to, and what you expect if you allow them to return. And topic's can be moved, hidden, locked, or removed. You have options on that front.
