Is it as bad as the reviews state?

So I browsed recently the review section and it seems the game is really not that good. Is it? Maybe the positive impressions did not get posted yet because those players are ingame (but check the forums), so I'd like to get some more positive opinions. Or bad ones if you have them.

May be the fault is beacause 58% of ####### raging ppl, strangely, i know a LOT of ppl enjoying the game...

Yea it need more work, but it's EA, yes it need improvement on server and lag, yes it miss some tools like ladders for raids and sieges, but again it's EA. And it's NOT money grab game ! Many ppl haven't prenium, never buy anything in the store, and play without any probleme. Someone with prenium haven't any advantage on you, except he'll leveling his skill a little quickly...

You can't loose your charactere, nothing force you to make rerolls, and 10€ isn't a big deal if you really want a second character. Prey, let your alignement positive, and you will not be hurt by any griefer or death. Death penality can be a thing if you have soe 90+ skills, but if you reach this level and die from random, I can't cry for you...

Ppl you can not like the game, all games aren't for anybody, but stop your free ♥♥♥♥ plz.

I enjoy this game very much. Its definitely not Pay2Win. Its Pay2Convenience and nothing more. Yes, the Skins are crazy overpriced but who needs them? The only thing i can complain about is the massive Serverlag at JH (800ms).
Put this aside and this game is an awesome group play experience.

Yeah... that's the unfortunate part about forum space, devs can do that sadly. There's plenty of bad reviews still though.

However from what I've seen the torch-wielding kinda is... well, maybe a little overblown and trying to stifle those who say it's good? I was watching Robbaz's video he put up of it and it was drowned with people saying DO NOT BUY! with very little context as to why, other than calling it P2W or whatever.

From reading the context of stuff. Meh. Maybe? It seemed to me just to be a possible subscription platform instead, kinda like those from the days of World of Warcraft or UO. But, I guess people would rather it just be a one-time pay to play scenario.

Edit: For the post above me; thanks for not calling me a fanboy I guess. I don't even own the game. I'm actually speaking impartially.

Here is the biggest issue in my opinion if you want to leave the tutorial Island it's over $10 CAD per character. If you decide you would like another character that will be another $10 to leave the tutorial Island with them and so on. This is most obviously a greedy tactic if you want to make money in an MMO just put in cosmetics for microtransactions and that's it boom if the game is solid then you will be raking in the $. How anyone that makes an MMO does not understand this is beyond me you only have to look at the successful ones to see what you should do.

i can t tell this is an issue, cause rerolls are really optionnal here. If you re homeless without a peny, you can change all your skill and stats without any rerolls need... With the time needed to xp a charactere, you ll don t need any reroll before 1 or 2 mouth.
A reroll is a choice and 10 bucks aren t a big issue.

LiF was an inspiring and aspiring idea, but has turned into a dry cash cow long ago with LiF:Your Own. I said it in 2016, LiF:MMO is a bloody rip-off. Buying in at bronze, silver, gold tiers, microcurrency God's Favor, and Premium Account Status. On top of more reaching in players' pockets. The negative reviews on their business practises are well deserved, but who cares if and how many of them they delete, or remove people's posts or ban them from the forums.

And don't forget that Lif:YO has become abandonware, no meaningful updates, in no reasonable amounts of time, everything still being half-broken from UI to mechanics.

I aswell think that there should be more slots for each player and there should atleast be a minimum off 2 slots, however there is no such thing as a p2w in this game, that is just a load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, yes there is a pickaxe and a sickle or wtf it is, that makes you gain xp a little bit faster, but wtf who the ♥♥♥♥ cares?

Are you really that weak that you cant gain that xp yourself no matter if some other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ choose to pay for those tools?

Its not a p2w that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who bought those tools might not even have a guild and wont get anywhere anyway by himself, cuz it still takes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ages to collect, terraform, build etc etc.

But yes I will only agree on the fact that people should have more character slots from the start, and this would only benefit the creators themselves and they will probably fix this ♥♥♥♥ anyway once they see that they dont earn any money the way ♥♥♥♥ are now.

The game however is smooth as hell, greatly optimized and works like a charm, it actually feels really good playing it compared to how it felt when I first bought YO and played that. If you want a really fun but really hardcore sandbox game that will probably ♥♥♥♥ you over some times but also give you a lot of laughs and amazing gaming hours, give it a try, its not P2W and you will be able to do just fine with 1 character and later on they probably will give you more slots anyway or make the game f2p.

ive been looking at the slow snail paced development of this and LIFYO

they have a map and prebuilt buildings and a few npc animals running around

the game has nothing to encrouage RP has broken pvp really bad survival mec's and not much else

its an ok game but its not a verry good game either nor do i think it ever will be

It is bad. I can play for hours at a time but then for no reason...Lag disconnect can't relogin. This happens multiple times a day. This game is in pre beta or early release or early access or alpha. Hopefully it will get better but right now it has major issues

90% of the time huge LAG, cut a tree down, wait 3-5 mins for it to fall. Rubber banding.... When they do Judgement Hour (kill time), game just freezes. crashes at server lines, it's a total mess

Game isn't bad, it's the devs and their coding and equipment that doesn't work right. Can't cross server boundaries to fight other people. Servers crash all the time. Game is in the same state it was (sad) 6 months ago. Devs seem to be more interested in spending time making new skins to sell for idiotically high prices than buying new equipment and hiring someone who can code.
