Repairing items options

Today I was crafting at the workbench and noticed the option to 'Repair Armor' and it used armorsmithing componets to do so. It seemed to lower the actual quality rating of the item but not the durability and not much gain in effective points from 0. Is this just another bugged thing or am I missing something?

Also, can you or can you not use small repair kits to repair weapons, I hear alot of mixed stories about this because of the high level requirement of building maintain to test it.

I'm very confused août this as well, and I do believe a number of skills might or might not play a role in that result.

To make it easier, I just put everything in a chest and someone else is in charge of repairs or making new ones, all the time :p
