Horse, Cart and Claim
So I have read some info, and other websites about claims; I'm still a little confused. If I tame a horse and build a cart, do I need to still buy a claim or can anyone steal my horse and cart or loot my stuff while I'm offline? I'm not quite sure how that works with keeping a horse if I have to have a stable or I can just let it run free and its already claimed to me? Any and all help is always appreicated. My idea was just to be a wondering hunter loading up on hides and selling them on the market, but if I run the risk of it being looted while I'm offline kinda defeats the point if I'm wanting to be a nomad and not have a claimed territory...no what I mean? Thanks all!

If it were just you and a horse you could 'hide the horse' in your inventory and then log off. But a horse is 100 stones of weight. The cart can not be hidden this way, and needs a friendly claim, weather it be a personal or guild claim.

If you were to log off wile riding the horse your horse will have a 3 min count down timer on it, after which a passerby could steal the horse. If no one finds it, i think the horse will de-spawn after one to three hours.

On a side note during JH, even on a claim, it may not be safe if the guild gets war dec'ed.

A tip on becoming a nomad would be still placing a personal claim, by using the hides that you find on your trips you could keep it running if you keep the claim small. I think the horse will still despawn if its on a claim and free.

Ok, I think I understand this...I’m thinking I will just make a small claim for my cart once I build it and then when I find a horse just store it in my inventory....I guess it’s better than chancing it all out in the wilds with no claim. Thank you for the info!

You should get a stable or some sort of storage as having 100 stones of weight decated to a horse could force out other items you also don't want to drop.

What server are you on?

Would actually love to see some kind of mobile claim cart tha would support nomadic playstyles.

If you are new to the game, hate to break it to you buddy but i don't think you have enough skillpoint to teame a horse and make a horse driven cart.
You need 120 skillpoints just for the horse part. 60/60 i believe
The horse cart skill is 90 in carpentry? So that's another 60/90 150 skillpoints
270 allready
If you can find someone to sell you materials for the cart, you are good to go. (wich wont be easy)
If you want to be a smith and make the nails and wheels u will need for the cart, you don't have enough skillpoints to reach that.

Horses can be attained in other ways. You can trade or buy one or find one laying on the ground about to die/depawn. Stand around for a bit yelling to anyone nearby. Mount the horse and ride around in the area looking for someone. If you are unable to find the owner in the game then the horse is pretty much yours. No use asking outside of the game as anyone could claim it.

Build the cart and store the horse in the cart most of the time but rearange and log out in possesion if you are worried. AFAIK...personal claims are invulnerable unless they are also within a guild claim. Once you do that get some nails and metal sheets to make some chests. You will be fine, especially if you have an alternate character(s) that have access to your personal claim to make up for the skill cap restrictions. If your willing to pay for the extra characters that is. If not, trade, trade, trade.

For playing the way you want to play your best bet is to go to the Epleland Role Play server. There is less PvP to worry about and what PvP there is is supposed to be done under Role Play guidlines. For sure there are some griefers from time to time but the big guilds will hunt them down once identified. If you ask them and report it.

This link will give you an idea of what the Role Players on the Epleland server are about:

I'm doing something similar there, I'm just a homesteader peasant working some land that so far is unclaimed by a guild...but I roleplay as a subject of the big guilds in the area whom I trade with. Get on the official Discord Server and go to the Epleland General Discussions for tips on how to maintain your personal claim so your stuff can be safe when you are offline.

Welcome to the game.

Awesome thank you all for the advice! I’m definitely gonna work on my skills there but yeah I’m thinking it will take me a good while to either build or trade the mats I need for a cart. Oh well I expected it will take me a while to get where I wanna be but I guess that’s what is making me addicted to the game now is the painful grinds! Lol

It's a pity the game is so centered around large guilds otherwise you could just be a solo player with a horse and cart and be carting goods between cities trading goods to stimulate the game economy.

I would like to see a smaller claim, other then a personal claim, like a camp thats say 3x3 with one of the outer squairs being say the sleeping bag. It would alow for somone to move each night. With the sleeping bag, because its movable you can change its location every night. (er every real night, not game night). It should give some protection against thivery and pervent decay on things. Shouldn't require any thing but maybe the sleeping bag itself.

Edit: This just came to me, there is that seige tent, maybe something like that, so the tent protects everything inside, but because its a tent that uses more resorces it would be more expensive to create, so it should beable to break it down. Place a 48 hour count down on it so somone can have 2 real life days to get back on.
