Best you can do for every animal is straw because its cheap and lasts about 24 hours. The higher the weight of food the longer it needs to be eaten

I got tons of Straw so that would be pretty good.

If your able to put it in the barn for food, then yes they will eat it.

yes as i said every animal in this game eats straw... in RL i dont know but i know for sure pigs eat everything even there own meat

I think feeding them with the food that they are tamed with increases their chances of a quality increase, but once at 100q it doesnt matter.
