Way to get components from earlier in the game?

I'm near the end of the game and would like to make some Arbiter Garb to go with my Arbiter Caps, but Quality Thread seems to be near impossible to find. I saw it mentioned that crossroads might be a good place to farm for it. But I only got Diamond thread and even more Demon leather.

Is there anyway to get quality thread reliably when I'm so far in the game. or is it going to be a low % drop now that it's so out of date?

The top tier crafting materials mainly drop from the Ancient Path. Note that sometimes (as rewards for finishing an encounter) you will get "one of this now" with the idea that "a bit later you will be able to get more", so that's likely where you got it from. Alternatively, Bandit Kawas will drop stuff from about "one tier higher" than you can normally get, so they would likely be your best shot before doing Ancient Path.

I'm not trying to get top tier stuff, I have 4 of the demon leather already, I need quality thread to make the Garb. Which seems to be the lowest on the "thread" materials. I'm getting diamond thread when I need the much "worse" quality thread.

My apologies, I got confused by what you were saying.

As for [Quality Thread], I see that it's a more "mid-game" resource, so trying in Crossroads is likely not your best bet. https://ibb.co/C9b2rz5 screenshot for people's reference in terms of "this is what it's used for", and why I was saying "mid-game" resource.

As I am not at my gaming PC right now, I cannot check specifically, but I would recommend following the details which I had put in the third of those threads I linked above in terms of "seeing in the game files where X drops".

I wish I could give you more guidance offhand, but my gut feeling says "if it's a mid-game material, try mid-game areas".

It was saying Caravan Trails in the doc as far as I could tell, but I figured out how to add the thread to my inventory so it all worked out. Thanks for the help!
