Question about Bleed
After the redesign of FellBlade last year, where Bleed Slice was replaced with Chaos Slice, seems like there's a lack of abilities that can inflict Bleed.
Actually there are 2 base classes that can apply Bleed : Assassin with his finisher, Assassinate, and Peddler with Lacerating Trap.
Besides these, only Vampire and Bzaro can also apply it, if I'm not mistaken.
Also a Counter for a late story char -but that's not the same thing imho-.

This leads to basically not having much options : 2 base class, with a finisher (medium-high MP cost) and a trap (which is almost always the least optimal choice for a Peddler) for most part of the game.

I was wondering if that's intentional and, if so, why?
Warewolf first ability "Bite" seems weird in that sense. It apply Poison which does not fit my idea of a warewolf's bite, should not be more obvious that said Bite would apply Bleed? Is that because it might be redundant to give Bleed to Warewolf and Vampire?

There are already a lot of abilities that can inflict Poison on the other hand.

Thanks beforehand for the response :)

[edit] Just to add that I love the redesign of Bounty Hunter, now it has much more "personality" and it's not just a mix of random skills. Appreciated :)

Ryniel-

Obviously I can’t complely answer your question on Bleed, but I can tell you WW’s Bite applying poison comes from the idea of WW bite—disease—curse / rabies kind of thing. Since there isn’t a “diseased” debuff, they decided to go with poison, as it accomplishes what they’re looking for, and is the “closest thing” to disease / rabies.

And yes, I too appreciate the recent Bounty Hunter changes.

Hey :)

Sorry for the late reply, we've been extremely busy lately, trying to get the next big build ready.
We've been keeping tables on all debuffs and their availability, but I think with some of the recent changes (like to the Fellblade class), it might have thrown some of those off a bit. I'll make a note to double check that and make sure it's where we want it to be.

I'm not certain we'll want more abilities tied to it specifically (after all, if you count the vampire, there's a fair amount of bleed effects), but it's certainly worth double check, I agree!

Thanks for the feedback :)

Hey guys,

thanks for the answers, it was just something I noticed after the last playthorugh.
Now that Conan mentioned the "rabies" thing about Warewolf, I have to admit that is a valid point. And yes, Vampire do have a lot of Bleed options.

As always, keep up the good work 6 Eyes, this game is amazing as it is your commitment with the community.

P.D. Can't wait for the next big build update :)

I would think switching out the poison and weakness debuffs for werewolf bite and fetid breath respectively might be a way to seem a bit more immersive especially since zombie fetid bite inflicts poison (still does right?) - however -
In terms of gameplay, the way it is designed probably makes the most sense. Good work keep it up!

I'll chime in and say there are definitely too few Bleed options available to the player, especially with a certain unique class losing access to Throwing Knife. Outside of the Vampire Class, I actually can't think of a player-accessible class besides maybe Bzaro (I don't know what every skill he has does as I've not unlocked everything on him yet) that inflicts Bleed that's not part of a randomized effect such as Chaos Slice (ironically enough, the ability that replaced Bleed Slice).

This is part of why (in my big generic class synopsis), when talking about being able to give Druid a minor redesign that kept it doing mostly all the same things while removing technical overlap, one of my suggestions was a Bleed spell (in place of the borrowed Poison one). There's a lot of really good ways to access Poison (Plague Doctor, Fellblade, Werewolf immediately come to mind), most of which also have access to Weaken, but there's little to nothing to really access Bleed anymore.

If I'm wrong, do correct me, but this status (in my experience) has gone from being a key part of any non-DPS strategy to pretty much no longer being a factor in general play because nothing besides monsters has meaningful access to it, especially compared to the (generally more powerful / useful) Poison status.

(Also, damn, we're on 8.0.0 now? I really need to find the time to catch up on the new battle content. Aaaaa.)
