Can I custom create a human male warrior type character main character in this game really?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this. Can you clarify your question?

For some info which might help, the three "main characters" who you have at the beginning of the game are Kyrie, Anadine (both of whom are "warrior" archetypes) and Reiner (who is a "rogue" archetype). Obviously you will get more story heroes as you progress in the game. Note that these story heroes have a static appearance to them and cannot be changed.

Otherwise, you will also recruit and utilize generic heroes, whom you DO have control over their looks.

No, it is a preset story with preset characters for the protagonists. However, you can certainly customize other heroes.

Granted, I can understand having an affinity for "custom protagonist", but I certainly play both kinds of games; where can or can't design your own "main character".

If it's the only reason you don't get this game, you're really missing out.
I don't think any other tatics games in the last few years have the level of customisation this one have, it's actually really deep.

I know i can't change your mind, but i would at less wait for a sale instead of skipping it completely, it's a shame to see any tatics fan to pass on this game imo, since it's one of the better one around.

Wait what... don't disregard a game cause of a gender (I mean even if you customized a skin of a character, the story would still be the same. The protagonist isn't feminine either as plays more like a neutral char). This is probably one of the better tactics genre games out there.

Main character isn't girly if that is your concern. She is a dutiful knight in a sense and there is barely enough to remind you she is female from the story.

Just create a custom character, and bring him to every battle in the game.

The way I did it with Tactic Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics was to keep the main characters as they were, but my first recruits will be my character/avatar who accompanied the heroes.

i think of it as the difference between a story and a game. Your playing though Kyrie story, so you have to have Kyrie. Same way you read a book, you have to use the authors protagonist.

Anyway just add your own custom character to the game.
