Online only?

Will i be able to play this game offline with AI or without an internet connection? Hope its that way because i don't see a point in having to be connected to the internet for single player.

world war z can be played offline with bots, like L4D. At least this is how I played in Xbox game pass.

The game is going to be online only, so once they shut down servers, you don't own the game anymore. This is so stupid, why make it online only to constantly pay for servers 24 7 and require an internet connection even for solo play <which makes no damn sense> I hope they get rid of this online only crap or the game will be another "evolved"

You don't own the game anyway.. you don't own any game digitally.

WRONG. I have WWZ on epig and praystation, and it can be played OFFLINE and it's bots are better than b4b's bots which themselvs are not even half as good as l4d2's bots ... once 1st person comes to WWZ in september there will be no dispute possible which is the better game since WWZ has farrrr better campaigns and map design with much more depth and better aesthetics to them than either of the b4b beta campaigns

nope, I had world war z day one on epig store and playstation (because it was half the price of this game, I decided why not both platforms to increase the odds of somebody familiar to play it with) and I could play it without an internet connection. on the epic version you would just have to choose to go online once your internet came back on, but you could use the same save even for it.

So if i use steam in offline mode without being connected to the internet at all, can i play this game? I've read its online only, meaning if your internet goes out, tough luck. Which sucks because i have a gaming laptop since im constantly out and about. So not being able to play because of online only sucks

Unless they change something in the Aftermath release (which i haven't heard anything about) you should be able to play WWZ offline, though steam has issues that need a patcht o correct (when dead Island's original release came out they had to patch offline mode due to abug but then it worked properly) and you should be able to use the same class progress on the same save and just choose to matchmake online (should be by default if steam is in online mode with internet connection active but iirc you can choose to not matchmake still) but would need to relaunch steam into online mode to do it like with any other game on steam when you decide to play online.

On epig store the last time I played to try out the horde mode, when my internet was off the game still worked. the problem with epig launcher though was i could never figure out how to open it, unless I left it open while internet was connected already ats ome point. But cutting internet after that point I had no trouble launching the game and playing with bots without internet using the same save. epic's launcher is garbage though lol.

As long as i can play without having to be connected to the internet at all, plus its $40 which is a steal

This game sucks very badly in offline play with bots.

One, it's zero fun.

Two, the AI Bots don't even function properly. For example, if you take a bot to a weapon stash, an ammo replenishing site, a med pack replenishing site, etc., they won't pick up or use the weapons/ammos/med packs that they need...and there's nothing you can do to make them do so.

At least that's how it used to be...I'm not sure if they patched the game to fix those problems.

But even if they did patch those problems, then they still wouldn't be able to patch the problem of this game not being fun in offline singleplayer with bots.
