No dialogue, no shooting, what do you even do?
PC Gamer trailer just said there is no dialogue and you rarely shoot the gun so what gameplay even is there? just 2-3 hours of walking down alien corridors to industrial brian eno music and then credits roll?

The combat isn't good so they downplay it as strategic and dangerous.
They cheaped out on voice acting and script writing, so they spin it as environmental storytelling and mysterious.

This is sadly, a game from a developer that had an artstyle and vision first, and a game as a distant second.

Survive and take in the Atmosphere.
A story can be told without speaking.

LOL, I kind of said the same thing AND its priced at $35, IDK. Def will be a sale game for myself. Kind of sounds like that Nazi bunker game from last year where it was story, atmosphere in a few hours. All for those types, but was expecting more i guess. I also just thought of Deliver us the Moon but again $20. Some of these prices are getting way out of hand.

If you are a fan of H.R. Giger, you will find it easy to appreciate this game even if it is just a walking simulator (it is not). For fans of Giger like me, this is the kind of game we have been fantasizing about since we discovered Giger decades ago as little kids. Every thing in this game, from the atmosphere, immersion, aesthetics, music and gameplay is built for fans of Giger (as well as potential new fans of Giger), and it can be considered a tribute to Giger's extraordinary artistic vision.

To me and other fans, this game is the perfect virtual expression of Giger's work come to life and in a way as if we were walking through Giger's biomechanical landscapes themselves, as if we were exploring an interactive museum of his art but in gaming form.

But if you are not a fan of Giger, you won't be able to comprehend exactly why this game is so anticipated by so many people for the 8 years since it started development, and why we are so excited to finally get a confirmed release date.

Exploring a horrifying, yet fascinating beautiful world is enough for me. I don't need guns to keep me interested.

All the demo gameplay I've seen is "look at the animations!", that is if you could even call it "gameplay" to begin with. Going to agree with the previous commenter stating this is going to be a game to get on a deep sale.

I'm wondering too. I expect at least a little bit of survival/shooting and some puzzles, nothing too much, just sneaking around in a labyrinth looking for items and stuff.
The trailers look gorgeous and I don't want to spoil myself.
The problem with walking simulators is that they are interesting for about 60 minutes. In this case it might be different because of the fantastic visual style and atmosphere, but there also has to be some basic gameplay.

I'm really worried about that as well.
I wouldn't mind the lack of combat if it was a survival horror like Amnesia or SOMA but it doesn't even seem to have that.

I'm guessing that you'll be leaving some enemies alive to save ammo, then you'll be backtracking and avoiding them like a classic RE game. I think the description of "Scorn is not a shooter" is more along the lines of its more like RE1 than RE4.

I am looking forward to the release but am as well worried what the primary gameplay loop is. If there is no game it may be more worth watching the experience rather than purchasing and still watching it.

Basically, you can spend 2 precious shotgun shells to down the heavy monster and go on with your journey , or you can let it follow you and then trap it like in the gameplay trailer for Xbox Series X, or maybe find a completely different path by exploring around.

I can't be the only one who would love to have a Photo Mode in Scorn, right? I'd probably clock in hundreds of hours just to find the perfect wallpaper for my desktop! :steamhappy:
It appears to be combination walking simulator and puzzle game.
