What is the difference between the two?

I hope that does not come off as snarky, I am genuinely asking what the difference is.

Is XXZ like a free trial of XXL or..?

XXL - Paid Game.

The mechanics of games are the same.
The content of games does not overlap (100%).
XXZ - not a demo version of the game XXL. Campaign XXZ is not included in XXL.

If you liked XXZ, you need to buy XXL.

XXZ is half-recycled and doesn't last long enough to be worth the asking price. It doesn't even have an ending - you sit on the final level.

I really like what was achieved with this minimalist approach. Feels like a game jam where you were forbidden to use language. But it needs more.
