6years and one new computer later i started playing again. It looks like the xxx.txt doesn't work now. do i need the dlc for uncensored play?

I cannot play the game anymore. After selecting the wished gametype on the main screen it shows me the "16+" or "18+" screen an that's it. I reinstalled the game on several PC's and tried to check the files with Steam, everything seems ok. I deleted my files from Steam Cloud while checking if the game runs with or without Cloud. But it seems that it's not really loading the gamedata. Is there a way to reset the game completely or where can I chack some logs?...

Why is it always censored

Any reeason that the DLC is censored? The main game is fine but the Dead Souls is now censored when it wasn't yesterday. I created the txt file and it obviously works for the main game.
