This game is ridiculously hard or I just suck
Come on... I finished every Senran Kagura game without problems but this one is ridiculous. I have no idea what is goin on the screen and on 10th mission of Gessen School I die from 2 hits. I have upgraded my character to lvl4 (160hp) and still the same... Is this one of those games where you have grind to even finish the game or what?

nah, I don't think you need to grind to do the missions. how do you like your weapon?

what skills do you have? are you using them well?

I had a couple of issues the first time around on a few missions but was able to overcome by rethinking my approach.

I did upgrade my character to 4, as well as my weapon. but i didn't update skills yet since I'm going to finish the entire story first probably to get a better idea of what skills are available. (i don't have many unlocked yet)

I'm using Yozakura with her Shotgun. As for skills I have SR Heal, Barrier, some debuffs, etc. the most useless thing are teammates. They're simply dying without doing anything...

while I haven't tried doing much of this myself, and it would require a bit of your cards. maybe upgrade some of them to have more life?

i do find it is easier when they stay alive. also i did swap out some of my team mates weapons with ones i upgraded since ive upgraded 4 weapon types now. ( wouldnt want them all to have same weapon, that could be bad lol)

oh and it may be worth swapping your own weapon for the boss. I've done that before because while I may prefer a certain weapon most of the time, there are scenarios in the story where I prefer a different weapon.

You need to be paying attention to how the boss attacks is part of the problem. Dodging is your friend in that fight.

Also yeah if your allies are all level 1 you should fix that.

That's what I call grinding ;_; I have Yozakura on lvl4 and Shotgun lvl4 and I have no more cards to raise the rest of the team. To do that I'll have to repeat some missions for extra cards. Or spend money for boosters...

there are no boosters to buy. you need duplicate cards to raise levels. (and as i understand it the new cards you can pay for, are just that new cards, so they won't upgrade anything)

I was able to get through the first 2 storys without upgrading anything, so I still say grinding isn't required. However I did eventually end up leveling stuff up and it did make things easier for the other stories.

Grinding is mandatory on 3 star for first playthrough, that might be the biggest difference.

that i could believe. I was going to add that I shifted to one star myself just for the ease of things but windows update got in my way and rebooting my PC and installed updates...so i never got to finish updating my comment.

I'll go back to 3 star after i'm done with the story. but even at 1 star I've been able to upgrade 1 character per arc to level 4, and one weapon without repeating quests.

also because i did switch back to 1 star, may be why i have so many duplicates to use lol. I'll fix that later ^_^

I took different set of cards and did it without loosing a heart... Ok I need to think more about setting up team cards...

I gave up and done it at 2 star with lvl 1 char. Stacked slow enemy reload speed and barrier cards. Don't worry, the 3 bosses for the other 3 schools are much easier and can be done with lvl 1 chars. I pumped all my exp into a single weapon throughout the game though. Besides Gessen's boss fight, I cleared the other missions for the 4 schools at 3 star, mostly S, but there are some As (First playthrough), so I don't think there is any need for grinding to complete story.

I heard that gattling gun can output high damage at the cost of mobility, maybe you can try barrier spam and gattling gun.

Yeah don't forget to do the same for your teammates too.

gatling gun has a painfully slow reload time if you empty your reserve.

That mission was fairly braindead for me, but I played some some V-Road before I touched the story.
