Is this game actually a sequel to Tear Ring Saga and Berwick Saga?

Game is not a sequel to Tear Ring or Berwick. I heard somewhere that the games take place on the same world but they're not connected by anything (and I'm just spreading hearsay here). You could view it as a separate successor to Fire Emblem. Or! Since you know Tear Ring and Berwick, you could say it's a spiritual successor to them! Game has more in common with those titles than Fire Emblem at this point.
