Why can I quick aim with the sidearm and the secondary and not with the rifle?

The rifle constantly zooms in and out with a scoped view. If I enable the Toggle Aim function in the Accessibility menu, the rifle works better (kinda) - but now I have to press a button once again to exit out of the aimed view of the pistol and the secondary weapon. That's awful when things get busy.

It's all very clunky. I simply want to aim, shoot and drop aim in one smooth movement. As it is, I'm playing the 90% of the game with the pistol, and the remainder with the secondary weapon. Pretty poor when it's clearly a offshoot of the Sniper Elite games.

i am not sure what your issue is, when i play the game i point rifle at the enemy then right click, place crosshairs over then enemy and fire, release the right click to lower weapon, there is a keybinding that allows focus on the enemy but unless you press this key it does not action. if your games does something different then there is some sort of glitch. try a reinstall, or verify file integrity.

That's pretty much what I'm trying to do - but by default, it doesn't work like that. I've captured it and will add it to Youtube at some point.

I don't use RMB for aiming or scoping though - haven't done in FPS for donkeys years. It must be a configuration clash or issue that I'm overlooking because it's unplayable as is.

I'm just trying to aim on the rifle (without scope) and the game in a one press aims the rifle, scopes the rifle, stops scoping with the rifle and then lowers it once more. Almost like 5 functions are all on the same key.

Fresh Windows 11 install today btw - and it's downloading as we speak.

its not a windows issue, sounds like you need to change the keybindings in game so you use the right mouse button for aiming, best to reset all keybinding and then set up as you prefer.

So - I reset the controls to default and the scoping with the RMB worked fine.

Switch the aim key to Space (and by that, having to switch the default melee key to something else as well) and it goes all wrong.

Try it. Set aim to Space and tap or hold it in game and it goes mental.

Such a shame as the G22 key on my ancient (but superb) Logitech G13 gameboard is mapped to Space by default.

sorry friend cant help you with that, nice gameboard but unfortunately as you say old gear, might be time to upgrade, good luck.
