Zombie Army 4: Dead War

Zombie Army 4: Dead War

No sound with Vulkan API
There is no sound in game if I run it through Vulkan API (in launcher). Btw if I run game through the DirectX 12 it works fine (with all sound).

Any ideas how I can solve this issue?

This is a necro, but I hope it helps someone. I had this issue of no sound with Vulcan after doing a clean install of Win11 OS 22h2, but it might help other users as well.

The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime installs a number of runtime libraries from the legacy DirectX SDK for some games that use D3DX9, D3DX10, D3DX11, XAudio 2.7, XInput 1.3, XACT, and/or Managed DirectX 1.1. Note that this package does not modify the DirectX Runtime installed on your Windows OS in any way.

Instructions:

Download the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)
Create a folder for the files you are going to extract
Run the directx_June2010_redist.exe
Browse to the folder you created and place the files there
Open the folder you created to hold the extracted files
Run DXSETUP.exe
Allow it to complete the install/update
Restart your PC

You should have sound when running the game in Vulcan now.

I'm having the exact same issue after I reinstalled my computer. It worked fine before on the same hardware and OS.

Thank you for your reply. I hope someone will find this useful
@Yamarah - So you were able to get the sound back on your game using Vulcan? If you did, was this how you did it?
Somehow I did it but it was a long time ago. Just changed different settings and some of 'em worked
