I think the original poster was more upset about the game not providing exact numerical clarity on how much each item's special drop rates compare against just increasing raw Luck.
It is true that it's mathematically best to equip two of whichever ring corresponds to what you want to farm.
2x solomons for shards. or 1x plunderer // 1x solomon for shard/item combined.
Gambler's ring is inferior to plunder/solomons for drops.
