8 bit nightmare strategy
Can the shard that generates a directional shield be used to block the walls of fire which come out of of the floor and cealing during the 8 bit nightmare boss?

I don't know about the directional shield, but I'm pretty sure I've used the Beast Guardian shard to block the walls of fire.

OP: I'm not sure but it's definitely worth trying. In Bloodless mode, the flying guillotine upgrade for her umbrella blocks a lot of the fire coming from the ceiling. So it's possible!

Directional Shield works here but it drains your MP very much if you block the entire firewave attack.

I figured this out as well and the fight became MUCH easier.
