The story of what Zangetsu is doing alongside Miriam's adventure.
The story isnt even good, people are mad at the devs for delaying this forever so they search for things to be angry about, they dont even want to see the story lmao.I agree with them that the devs handled everything poorly when it comes to communicating and delaying everything so much, but I can't agree with people being mad at not getting more ''story'' with other playable characters when I'm willing to bet most of them don't even care about the story they just want to be mad at something.
People were probably expecting better quality standards in 2020, which is fair. Why should they release a barebone character because it's been done before? Why should we stay with a worse standard when we don't have to?
Fighting bosses then having them "run away" since they are scared of him(based on what he told Miriam before he gives her his sword)
Zangetsu finding area he can't go to since he doesn't have magic and having Dominique lecture him about trusting Miriam more since they both have the same goals and can help one another.
Just think of it as Zangetsu fighting his Dopplegangers, just like Alucard.
Zangetsu Mode is fun cuz he's a speedy boi and ya can go home with him like Richter in SOTN/Julis in Aria Of Sorrow, but ya got (backdash) cancelable Slashes like Zero from Mega Man X.
Also he gets his own final boss.
At first I was surprised by the game dumping a list of 10+ combos and attacks at me at the very start, so I only used a few and started to look into game options as I progressed and got comfortable with basic attacks.
Now that I'm around 50% of the map, I started to google for some stuff for the first time and I'm discovering that there are NPCs, potions, etc. in the game. WTH?
Yeah, Miriam is actually the regular story mode. Zangetsu is more like a bonus mode. Ideally, its recommended that you play Miriam first and then Zangetsu. When this game was first released you could only play as Miriam. Zangestu was later released as a bonus character, and could only be unlocked after completing the game with Miriam. But some people complained that (due to a bug) they didn't have Zangetsu unlocked after the update, even though they beat the game. So, to appease people they released another update that made it so that Zangestu was playable from the start. Which I don't think is ideal, but I understand why they did that.
So, yeah. If nothing else I think they should probably add some kind of text at the character select that recommends you play Miriam first to avoid this sort of thing.
Really what they should have done is put it in the 'extra mode' menu.
