How to win the rider's race in `` Den of Behemoths`` ??

Equip the spear art that makes you dash and equip the armor that prevents trap damage.

Edit: Penetrate spear skill (you are going like 3/4 of accelerate speed) and Aegis armor. With this set up the contest is a joke.

You can win with just the reflector ray (aegis armor helps). Just hold your right stick at all times and use it as soon as the range is maxed.

I used the Leng Yan Ju spear for its charge ability (easy with the D-pad), High Jump, and Aegis Armor. After you beat him once he gives you accelerate which makes getting the other 8 runs done a cakewalk where you spend more time waiting for him to reach the finish line.

High Jump in general is also useful for the zone since it lets you basically fly, especially with accelerate helping you out as it gives you some collision resistance in addition to the speed boost.

Speed Belt, book that gives movement speed, Aegis Mail, High Jump. Don't bother using Reflector Ray, if you mess up you ruin the race. Use high jump instead of Invert or Reflector Ray for the right hand segments of the race. Chances are you'll be five seconds ahead.

Speed Belt + 2 books from OD that increase speed. Aegis Armor so you don't worry about spikes.

Reflector ray stops time while you zip, so you can win by using just that (and considering there are mirrors on the path it should have been pretty obvious that's what you were supposed to use :P )

Ima just say this again use penetrate spear skill, you basically dash across the map (early game method of just speeding across areas) if you hold the forward and attack button after executing the skill and with the aegis armor you just need to jump a few obstacles after. No need to bother equipping speed belt or anything else.

For future reference you only have to cross the finish line, you don't have to be there when he crosses it. Cross the finish line and then get back to the exit of the room before he dies, so you can leave as soon as you get the shard and save a little time.
