How to get to Den of Behemoths
How do you get there? I just beat Zangetsu part 2. Please provide details. Some guy on a google search said "just cut the moon," and I have no clue what that means lol

In the Garden of Silence, near where it meets the Entrance, you'll find a corridor with a bright red moon that suspiciously floats in front of the background. Cut it with Zangetsuto.

I must've been softlocked out of this with the latest patch. The red moon was definitely there when i started but it's gone now.

have you beaten gebel yet? the moon in the garden reappears when you beat him. Do keep an eye on the moon during the fight.

same. I remember being like, whoa, that background is crazy, in my first time there, but it's definitely gone now.

after you beat Zangetsu you must defeat Gremory when fighting Gabel and not Gabel it should let you cut the moon in the Garden of Silence, the moon is there as a "warning" that Gremory knows you are in the castle but since after fighting Zangetsu the flags have been set that she has nothing to "worry about" maybe the moon longer appears in the garden as she's with Gabel at that point

Go to Gebel with the Zangetsuto. Hit him enough times and the moon will turn red, invert gravity, slice the moon.

Do the same with the moon in the corridor *afterwards*.

Ah, I figured i had to do something like that like in SotN but the moon only turned red after he was defeated. Time to slow the DPS and try again.

Yes it is indeed HP based. So just equip the Zangetsuto and just melee him for a bit, take off any powered up combat familiars like the Dullahammer Heads. He is really obvious in his casting so it wont be hard to avoid his spells and wont take long before the moon goes red.

I messed up and accidentally killed him in my first attempt on him because my maxed out 8-bit Fireball was hitting him for around 1k a trigger pull...

Thanks for the advice guys! So I went to fight Gabel, and after hitting him enough, the moon turned red and I hit it once, slicing it in half and leading to a CS. The game did not end and I was able to leave the room and go back to the garden room, where the moon was once again red. I hit it, and it opened a portal to den of behemoths :)
is it possible to cut the moon before the fight with gebel

nope, trying to cut the moon before then just has you attacking the air like normal.
