Dropping the bells?

I've seen in multiple forum posts that the bells can be dropped. How? I tried jumping on it like a tard for several minutes, lol.
My map is at 99.60%, and I assume that the bells that drop open an area I haven't seen yet.

Does a giant, two handed flaming axe count? Not actually seeing a rope. Just several bells on massive blocks of wood. I've checked all of the towers on my map, I think.

It's possible not all bells can drop, there is an area with two of them that dropped for me by jumping on the side a couple time. I remember one of those bell cracking the floor too.

Think I got them to fall just by jumping on the lip.

Can yo be a bit more specific? I'm hopping on both side lips on multiple bells in multiple towers. Which tower with bells? There are three, I think. All side by side. A few posts said they broke two bells.

i just jumped on the side of the bell and it fell down

After jumping on every bell, i only found one that drops. And I had already accidentally dropped it in my first play through.

If a bell will drop, you just have to get it to ring and then stay on screen long enough for it to drop. I believe you can also just stand on it and you will see the cords near the bar it hangs from react before the bell drops away.

If a bell won't drop, you can do anything you want to it and it will never drop. It is only a few specific bells that drop, so if you have been messing with a bell and it hasn't dropped, then it won't drop. Just move on and try the others when you find them.

I've messed with EVERY bell. I've only gotten a single one to drop. It cracks the ground so you can break it open to move to another room.
