Actually, that's the 'best' way to farm any of the items that drop from the 'hidden' bosses. The 8-bit, as well as the three key bosses.
If you use this route, make sure to grind out grade 9 dullaheads. They don't hit all that hard if you aren't in int gear, so they'll add lots of pickpocket possible hits.
I was asking about the item called "8-bit Nightmare", which drops after clearing the 8-bit dungeon.

3. the boss can drop it from pickpocket shard
4.you use it to craft the ultimate version of the 8 bit coin weapons weapons. they each can be upgraded twice with the second upgrade requiring an 8 bit nghtmare
