Same with the garbage glasses you get from the food lady, it's like her 3rd or 4th quest and you get a 1def, 1int item from it?
The armor isn't supposed to be crafted at this point in your story, it's gifted to you in a chest. You can decide whether to exchange it or not when the time comes.
(Also don't forget to always eat at least one of each food for the sweet, sweet stat bonuses. All the money I've blown crafting + Luck snacks alone have more than paid for themselves. All those $50 and $100 coins add up.)
"Oh no I'm down to 3,000 from frivolous baking again-Oh I'm up 6,000... Oh no I'm back down to under 3k from alchemy for fun-Oh I'm up to $9,000"
Plus all the other assorted stat ups. Bullshitting around cooking is totally worth it, even before the fact they are added to the store.
(Stop to make basic components if you have the parts too. In particular anything using ingredients that's a monster drop. Which will cut down on monster drop ingredients later still part of recipies)
Might as well make the most of it. Why settle for "You'll be rich LATER though!" when you can be rich and bulked up on pasta and cookies before you even get the silver bromide? By that point I had something like +8 luck, +7 con, and 40+ HP/MP from food buffs, etc.
If you got the goods or pocket change, make the snacks/sidequest goals while you are there.
It will also save you time in the long run, because then you are not backtracking constantly to clear old quests.
Like, don't go out of your way to grind stuff early. I didn't bother crafting any weapons or armor that wasn't a quest checkbox early ("Hmm, maybe ill try to make the invisible sword-oh I found it in a wall, cool). But it was still great to be able to craft a single batch of silver bullets and max out the arrows skill because I happened to have most of the parts needed anyways.
But don't put it off to later entirely either and trick yourself into thinking not being stronger/richer sooner is somehow a waste either.
