Map Icon Legend

I think I missed a hint, tutorial or something but I have no idea what the icons on the map represent. Can someone point me to where the legend can be found? If not, what do the little icons mean?

green areas are teleports
red areas are saves
if you have the blue marker you put those yourself by pressing B on the map.

I have little purple / blue diamonds in some rooms -- they appear to represent NPC's but I've been to a room where no NPC was present. I also have what looks like journal pages in some rooms. No idea what those would represent.

diamonds are indeed npcs, i think one is bugged near a teleport room after you complete the quest and they go away

journal pages i figured out yesterday mean a quest enemy can be found in this area

Oh that makes sense! To be honest I was hoping the journal page was that I had missed a book shelf. I guess my fear of missing a book shelf will haunt me forever now.

Thanks for the response though. It was driving me crazy not knowing.
