Does the following boss have a shard?

I killed the black dragon, Abyssal Guardian and it didn't drop a shard. I thought it was like Zangetsu, that didn't either, but when I went to the bestiary, I noticed that for Zangetsu, there's a "-----------" indicating that a shard does not exist, but for the dragon, it shows "????????", which makes me think that there is a shard and I didn't get it. Was it a bug or will I get it later (or even there's no shard at all)?

Yes, he have an Shard, you will encounter a lot of the same dragon very late in the game, so you will have an oportunity to get his shard.
