How to invert?

Help I don't know where to get the invert shard! I hope it's not one of those game breaking bugs because my map is already at 68.40% complete.

the invert shard can only be acquired after beating bloodless and sucking the bloodpool near the entrance down towards the waterway which sprawls into 3 areas
waterway>Desert>waterway>volcano

Maybe I am stupid, but I read the description and was still confused. I thought maybe it was up or down depending on which direction you wanted to go an the timing was wonky since I accidentally did it a couple of times. Then I thought maybe pushing the stick in was how you activated it... Then I came across this post and realized it was a combo. So yeah, maybe I'm dumb but this post helped me at least.

The phrasing of the instructions looks liker it's telling you to go up or don + A on the left stick.

You have to press "down", then press "up" and "jump" simultaneously.

Right? I still couldn't figure it out. It felt like it was either up + B or down + B depending on which way you wanted to go and not down, up, then B. Which I guess is not a natural conclusion some of us stumbled upon.

for anyone else who had the same problem that they couldn't get it to work even after the order was listed by these other people, quickly jostle up and down as quick as you can tap (on keyboard at least) pressing spacebar when doing so. Doing this will let you invert and since it takes a second for the screen to flip you can just stop jostling when you are the way you want.
