Beware of the 8 Bit Nightmare dungeon...
It's at the top of hall of termination where the black aura bookcase is, and apparently you can't escape once you go in, so BETTER SAVE before you go in... The enemies were hitting me for 60-120 damage and the boss is above 120 damage, and im like level 30+ with decent gear and over 1000hp. unless you want to farm shards, don't waste your hp and potions on the mobs there, they take a ton of damage.

The room where the warp is located is behind 2 secret door, a ceiling then a wall.

Holy F---...

This boss is rough since he changes his firewall spamming patterns and you need to be tile perfect to double jump evade his walls of 144 damage firestorm...

I wonder if this is a secret boss and has nothing to do with the plot because i used up all my high potions and fairy potions and such to get him probably down 80% of the way (he changed variation in his attack in about 3 stages but i can't tell if his hp is close to death)...

Still haven't beat him because I need more hp, better gears, and stats... probably a ton of fire resist will help cheese the fire damage...

It's level 50 and has 6660 health. It's pretty rough to take down the first time but if you're struggling it's much easier to come back later as it doesn't give anything essential and you can repeat the 8-bit area to farm him (apparently he does have a shard and drop but I haven't gotten either from two kills).

I beat that dungeon at level 28. It was hard as hell. I used up all my potions, even had my faerie familiar with me trying to heal me too. That definitely saved my ass, otherwise I would have been dead. I was at like 40 hp before it died. It was cool though. I love that area. But yeah, it's so much better to come back later to it to farm or such.

Edit: forgot to mention it was on a first try, too. but that's not a gloat. I'm lucky that I even did it in one try at all. Literally one hit away from getting a game over e.e

cant get his shard, killed him a ton of times :/

At least you are able to evade all enemies until you get to the boss and get roasted xD BUT, a man should not do so, before collecting the shards and drops from each and one of them! Amen

I had to kill him 158 times with maxed luck gear/passives to get 9/9 and the worst part is his shard really sucks too...

8-bit fireball however is an endgame godtier shard...

there is a neat trick to kill him without breaking a sweat. You either need a katana with the guard technique (-> -> X) or a shield weapon and a great sword (you get Guam in the previous room and it's perfect).
The shield option is my favorite cause you never run out of MP

1) Set up shield as one shortcut and guam as the other.
2) Get really close to the boss and start spamming the G-sword attack.
3) when the enemy turn orange, switch to shield
4) attack as soon as the flame get close to you (he uses for in a row at most) or when the big fireball get close. This will guard the entire flame attack, no need to move or dodge
5) when he becomes purple again, switch to the G-sword and start spamming again

The only 2 things that might create some problems are when he starts flying and stomp (easy to avoid if you backstep at the last second), and when he jump through you to reach the other side of the room (in theory you can guard with the shield, but I'm not good at read him).

He's probably the easiest of the superbosses due to his lack of mobility. The second easiest is the Jackpot Machine (you can use a similar technique, but you don't even need to switch to a G-sword cause the range of your shield is enough).

It doesn't work well against ravenant and carpenter cause they tend to walk through you dealing an insane amount of damages

Ha, 8 bit nightmare considered hard. Come back once you even try to get to that point on nightmare mode

I think on that certain point of the game it was hard.
He's easier on nightmare mode because of all the stuff that carried over. You only have to entertain yourself which of your load out can kill him quicker.

Take off speed belt and your standard jump will let you just jump at normal speed over the firewave. Also you can start off the fight with a charged Greatsword skill attack on top of him and knock out like 2k worth of his health immediately, then switch off to whatever weapon you want. The mini spread fireballs that get thrown and then explode into a pillar you can just duck into a corner and fire off some shards in that position. When he does the combination fire attacks you are going to be around 3/4 of the screen left or right mid air.

Wow, now I'm happy that i got his shard and drop on my one and only try so far.
The drop is pretty weird in my opinion though, as its only the 8-bit nightmare book, that you also get in the freshly spawned chest outside after defeating 8-bit overlord. Btw. what do you use it for, i heard that O.D. would offer a new book, but he didn't react.

You need that book and the 32 bit coin to craft a bunch of weapons.

Yeah, as far as I know, the boss and the one-time chest are the only sources for that mat, and you need more than 10 of them if you want to craft all the 3rd-tier coin weapons. All 3 coin tiers can be bought from the shop, but they are expensive!
