This boss is rough since he changes his firewall spamming patterns and you need to be tile perfect to double jump evade his walls of 144 damage firestorm...
I wonder if this is a secret boss and has nothing to do with the plot because i used up all my high potions and fairy potions and such to get him probably down 80% of the way (he changed variation in his attack in about 3 stages but i can't tell if his hp is close to death)...
Still haven't beat him because I need more hp, better gears, and stats... probably a ton of fire resist will help cheese the fire damage...
Edit: forgot to mention it was on a first try, too. but that's not a gloat. I'm lucky that I even did it in one try at all. Literally one hit away from getting a game over e.e
8-bit fireball however is an endgame godtier shard...
The shield option is my favorite cause you never run out of MP
1) Set up shield as one shortcut and guam as the other.
2) Get really close to the boss and start spamming the G-sword attack.
3) when the enemy turn orange, switch to shield
4) attack as soon as the flame get close to you (he uses for in a row at most) or when the big fireball get close. This will guard the entire flame attack, no need to move or dodge
5) when he becomes purple again, switch to the G-sword and start spamming again
The only 2 things that might create some problems are when he starts flying and stomp (easy to avoid if you backstep at the last second), and when he jump through you to reach the other side of the room (in theory you can guard with the shield, but I'm not good at read him).
He's probably the easiest of the superbosses due to his lack of mobility. The second easiest is the Jackpot Machine (you can use a similar technique, but you don't even need to switch to a G-sword cause the range of your shield is enough).
It doesn't work well against ravenant and carpenter cause they tend to walk through you dealing an insane amount of damages
I think on that certain point of the game it was hard.
He's easier on nightmare mode because of all the stuff that carried over. You only have to entertain yourself which of your load out can kill him quicker.
The drop is pretty weird in my opinion though, as its only the 8-bit nightmare book, that you also get in the freshly spawned chest outside after defeating 8-bit overlord. Btw. what do you use it for, i heard that O.D. would offer a new book, but he didn't react.
You need that book and the 32 bit coin to craft a bunch of weapons.
Yeah, as far as I know, the boss and the one-time chest are the only sources for that mat, and you need more than 10 of them if you want to craft all the 3rd-tier coin weapons. All 3 coin tiers can be bought from the shop, but they are expensive!
