So is Zangetsu...
Actually dead? I didn't even realize that he was supposed to be dead until the end. I thought he was just trapped by Gremory or something. I feel like there should be more to the ending.

spoilers tag would be great for people.

my take is that he simply got sucked into some kind of shadow portal and he has to fight his way out. I can see this being used two ways

A. when zangetsu mode comes out he will get an exclusive final boss within that realm
B. zangetsu will fight his way out and find himself in the next bloodstained game when/if that happens regardless of the amount of time that has passed in the bloodstained universe.

Well, other than that "Ultra Widescreen thing", I couldn't believe Zangetsu was dead, considering how the game establishes how effin' powerful this guy must be.

speaking of curse of the moon, and also a massive spoiler
in one of the game's endings Zangetsu gets posessed by Gremory
that could be a hint as to what happens to him after bloodstained ritual of the night
