Best Familiar?
I kept the Silver Knight on me when exploring, and for my boss set I had the book that gives you a strength buff, but I never really compared the Familiars much, anyone have an opinion or tier list they'd like to share?

I think the Silver Knight is the best because he can block and attack every ennemy with his light spears attack... But they are pretty useless overall.

I found the dullahammer heads to be really useful throughout most of the game, once they're leveled up, they're free damage on bosses and crowd control just running around. But I tend to switch between a few of them for maximum efficiency depending on what I'm doing.

Note that you can bring out the book for the strength buff, and then switch to something else and still keep the buff.

i think dullahammer heads are the most useful.

Silver knight outclasses bloodbringer by far and the book is useful for the strength buff.

Five Dallahan heads floating around you is REALLY effective at clearing out. Plus, you fight a lot of them, so you get a lot of their shard (at least I did) menang they end up dealing a ton of damage each. Easily the best IMO.

While I agree the the most effective is Dullahan I prefere the fairy. None of the others like you enough to sing a song for you.:happymeat:

Fairy until you get the Detective's Eye shard. Because she points out secrets.

I always use Buer. You can use it to make a triple jump and reach chests that you should not be able to get until later on. Also, during boss fights, you can use it to block some attacks and, when you can get it between you and the enemy, it will do massive damage. Try it, you'll see :D

I stuck with the fairy the whole way even though she sucks. Well, the extra healing is nice when you have a reckless playstyle that uses the dive-kick way more than you should.

The medusa heads are pretty legit.

You don't pick the fairy for combat. You pick her for heals and secret detection.

Had to google it too because I always forget: Carabosse

Turns out that this name was used in several really old fairy tales for evil fairies, including the original "Sleeping Beauty" in which she got renamed Maleficent in later iterations.

So kudos for the effort of digging up and using actual folklore.

i got the Bloodbringer sword after killing the first one i encountered. not terribly effective as a familiar, but you can also wield it and its the strongest weapon i have so far. it levels up as you use it as a familiar or weapon. its done me well

I used Carbosse for most of the game until Detective and then switched to the Book because it gives you a pretty hefty Str buff

The book Dentalion give you a HUGE STR bonus, its best by rly far .

The knight is nice for the blocking of spells but aside of that I found it pretty useless. The damage of all of them is pretty low if they even hit their target before I kill it or in general.

That's why I usually go with the book. At least the strength buff is helping me without the AI having to hit anything in time. The fairy can be nice but the fact it consumes items always annoyed me. And on top of that it seems to be bugged for some people and not actually heal them even though they have the items for it (never was a problem for me though).
