How do I get past the spikes?

After getting the ability to invert and trying to collect all the treasures I was shown but could not reach I returned the drawbridge to the castle. Once inside you can invert and fall up to a hole in the ceiling/floor and drop back down to the ground and move an iron maiden out of the way.

Moving the iron maiden allows you to jump on top of it but there are long rows of spikes that are too long to get through with any other ability and too narrow to navigate, getting hit by the spikes launches you back far enough to stop you going forward. There doesn't seem to be a way around this problem so presumably I'm missing something.

Head to Twin Dragon tower, and use Invert at the base of the tower. You'll find yourself right next to a treasure chest and some spikes, and the Aegis Armor in that chest nullifies damage from terrain hazards like spikes.

This area is visible from where the Valkyrie Dress chest is, at the start of the Twin Dragon boss fight, and is also reached through use of Invert or High Jump.

Thanks I'll head back there, I have seen the chest that must contain the item you're talking about but it doesn't show on my map. I did get the Valkyrie Dress chest though.
