So I'll say to pass on this game.
It really depends I guess, I don't dislike backtracking completely, I own and like Touhou Luna Nights which is another vania title then I have other smaller scale vania games and things like it that I enjoy
HK just felt like too much with no real sense where to go at least for me; tried a few playthroughs
Could be quite possibly the reason why I don't like it as much, if Bloodstained has a simple map and isn't something you'd get frustrated knowing where to go with such a big map (unsure if the map is big) then I wouldn't have an issue really
Recently started playing Blaster Master Zero and that's another vania-ish title that's fun, I just don't like getting endlessly lost idk if that's a problem in this game but if the map is simple and isn't too big it'd be okay
Yeah, you probably wouldn't enjoy Bloodstained then. Some progress can be really obscure if you don't pay enough attention, especially to NPCs.
Hollow Knight only has Charm.
It's a Metroidvania, so Bloodstained and Hollow Knight share a few things.
But if you enjoy SotN, this one feels the same, so you might like it.
Someone mentioned this game has progression through levels and such, I like that. Armor, weapons, all good points
The map seems like the normal vania-style map and looking at a big version of the map it doesn't look bad at all
I like SotN the most haven't played much of the other Castlevania games besides the Very early ones but I'll be sure to support this one when I can
+1.
