Second Normal should be the "Easy" mode, Hard should be "Normal" and Nightmare should be "Hard".
Going back in Hard I was happy to notice that stronger enemies show up earlier, as well as damage you take seems to be where it should be given how fast your health/mana outpace what the game throws at you. I felt exactly how the game was "suppose" to feel. Yes 3-5 hits could kill you. Yes those huge long attack animations from certain enemies can nearly one shot you.
I wouldn't say SotN is 100x better than Bloodstained though. I prefer Bloodstained's loot system a lot more, as well as the clear cut path to progression without needing to look up a guide. Taking the best weapons, and instead of having them drop, having them be crafted is WAY better than accidentally getting the best sword in the game in SoTN and ruining your playthrough by going nuts on the game. People who think the first Rheva you get is the best sword, haven't played enough of this game to understand what I'm talking about either.
RNG is RNG...that's the game.

Get real if you play Castlevania for some sort of challenge.
