8-bit coin Weapon Index
A place to store information that you discover regarding the 8-bit weapons, such as special/unique abilities, attributes, talents, etc.

As this thread goes, I will edit this main post to reflect information gathered below.

I currently have the Redbeast's Edge.

===============FINDINGS===============
*Dismantling an 8-bit coin weapon will return the 8-bit coin to you*

Ambivalence (whip) - Holding down the attack button can switch its attribute between dark/light.

Blood Grinder (g sword) - Chance on hit to apply Curse.

Boreal boots (boots) - Slightly slows character's move speed when trying to move from a standing position; causes icicles to form at the end of attacks, doing ice damage.

Claw of Onmoraki (g sword) - Charge to perform a Strong Attack.

Encrypted Orchid (sword) - Applies electric damage over time debuff.

Redbeast's Edge (rapier) - Starts as a short-reach dagger. Upon upgrading, becomes longer and eventually turns into a rapier.

Shield Weapon (shield) - Blocks projectiles.

I bought Ambivalence (the whip) and I think you can switch it's attribute from darkness to light but so far I haven't found it useful. I've been using the Thorn Whip instead.

You can always dissamble the weapon too, to get the coin back.

My friend designed the Redbeasts Edge; it's a weapon that grows stronger with upgrades; specifically, it starts as a dagger but eventually becomes a full rapier.

Is it possible it is bugged? When I first equip it, it starts as a dagger. But if i pause and unpause, the full blade shows itself. It definitely still has the length of a dagger, though, the blade goes through enemies and it doesnt hurt them,

Mm, that sounds like a bug to me, yeah. You're supposed to upgrade it with a 16 bit coin then a 32 bit coin or something like that. It shouldn't become a rapier before that.

The weapon classification is a rapier. It has the moveset of a dagger. Neither the dagger nor the rapier ttechniques work with it equipped. I got unlucky.

It's supposed to start as a dagger; my assumption is the team making the game didn't find a way to list it as "Dagger" then change it to "Rapier". As I said, though, it does get stronger and becomes a rapier once upgraded, but yeah, I wasn't exactly sure how the upgrading thing worked either until I asked him.

yeah its bugged at the moment, it should stay as the broken hilt till you upgrade it to the 2nd form. in the 2nd form you will see the red crystal growing from it, also the final up grade is shown in the item icon.

- Silent Calamity can turn enemies into stone (instakill)

- Encrypted Orchid adds some electric damage over time on its strikes

- Shield Weapon can block projectiles

- Blood Grinder can apply curse (no idea what it does)

- Claw of Onmoraki can be charged to do a strong attack

It's your weapon :)? Nice name. Does it have any other special properties aside from that?

Do you know if its attack power scales with the investment required? I feel like it should be slightly stronger than the other 8bit weapons when fully invested into.

Someone made a video showing the 8-bit coins weapons. Sadly he doesn't try them against enemies so we can't see the special effects, but at least we get the movesets:

Boreal Rime Boots (shoes) - Slow movement when beginning to move from a stationary position (like trying to walk on an icy surface in most games). They don't cause a sliding stop, though, and they don't do it if you're landing from a jump.

Oleanders (Boots) adds poison to the enemy.
