direct sound problem
i just download this game and i cnat even boot it up its saying=" DX - IW - Sound Problem "

DirectSound could not be initalized.

Please check that an audio card is installed and properly configured. can any one help this is the only time this has happened before

What OS do you have, what is your sound driver?

I've only seen this error when I disable ALL of my audio devices (in an attempt to mute sound so the game doesn't crash). Never seen it with any legitimate audio driver running.

windows 7 ultimate. my sound driver would it be razer synapse or my sound blaster 24bit live?

hmm. sound blaster 24 bit live is a sound card, so that certainly comes with its own driver.

If you go to the bottom-right of your screen, do you see the little white speaker icon (the default windows sound icon)? If you do, right-click and hit "Playback Devices," and tell me what is currently set as your "Default Device" (it'll have a green checkmark on it).

Also, are you running a 7.1 surround sound rig? From what I read of Razer Synapse, it's used primarily for surround sound.

yeah, that's not surprising. You'll have to go through speakers, since it probably doesn't know what to do with a 7.1 system.

Man this game has so many issues with sound drivers... :P
