Deus Ex: Invisible War

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Fix for stuck mouse issue!
So at the request of a few users I'm sharing what worked for my mouse issue. I was having an issue with the game where the mouse did not work in menus, this includes the main menu and others like your inventory. Because of this the game was literally unplayable as I was unable to drop items and install biomods. It was really really frustrating and I couldn't find a fix anywhere. What solved my problem is actually a fix for Thief Deadly Shadows, as both games suffer from the same issue because they use the same engine and were made by the same dev. Anyways, sorry for my rambling, here are the steps you need to take:
1. Go into your control panel
2. Click appearance and personalization
3. Next hit display
4. Under the part that says change size of items you want to hit set a custom scaling level
5. Next, where it says scale to this percentage of normal size you want to type in 149%
6. Hit ok and then apply
7. You will then be prompted to sign out and sign back in for the effect to take place, hit sign out now
8. Let your computer do its thing and sign back in
9. Open up the game and you should now be able to move the mouse around and use it
Hopefully this works for you guys. Bear in mind though I am using Windows 10, but I imagine this should work on Windows 7 and 8 as well. If this works for you let me know, i'll be happy to hear that especially after getting very frustrated just trying to run the damn game properly.

No problem man
Different solution:

- Find the <Default.ini> file, which should be located in the <Systems> folder of your game installation; for me it's <D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Deus Ex Invisible War\System\>
[STEAM itself runs from my C: drive, but my games are all installed on D:]
- Copy and Paste it to a safe location; this will be your backup !
- Open it up in Notepad [for some reason Wordpad also makes a very, very poor choice to edit INI files in, so please do not use Wordpad].
- Using the Search function <CTRL-F> find [WinDrv.WindowsClient]
- Find the following entries:
WindowedViewportX=
WindowedViewportY=
StartupFullscreen=
- use your desktop screen resolution to add the numbers to the first two entries; and make sure that the third entry is set to False.

As an example: my own screen resolution is 1920x1080, so I would end up with:

WindowedViewportX=1920
WindowedViewportY=1080
[...]
StartupFullscreen=False

Since this resolution has an Aspect Ratio of 16:9, certain elements from my ingame menus cannot be correctly displayed; f.i. in my inventory screen, the Drop button is not visible / accessible.

Use the Search Function again to locate: FOV_d=
Since the Aspect Ratio is 16:9, make the entry numer 53

Found this across the internet.
What does ..."f.i."... mean?
