Is this game really the worst Deus Ex?
I have not played this game yet, but I have heard from many fans that this is the worst in the series.

The original Deus Ex was my favorite game in the world for many years. I remember playing the demo for DE:IW when it first came out not long before the full game was released. DE:IW was not nearly as well made and as I recall the load times between levels took forever and you spent half the time loading because the levels were so small. If you were a big Deus Ex fan the sequel had enjoyable moments. I think what killed it for me at times was that I didn't really feel like I was in the cities I was supposed to be in because you could only see most of the scenery of the city through a window instead of being able to walk around in the city like the first game allowed for. With all that said, I wouldn't mind playing it again but I can't seem to get the game to start. It definitely hasn't aged well. What I'd really like to do with it is get it running in VR using something like Vorpx and play it again or even a Quest 2 native port would be nice.

Deus Ex: The Fall is the worst, if you can call it a Deus Ex game.

Yeah, I would say so. Even the graphics look older than the first. A few elements of the game design are nice over the first but overall it looks like a rushed job to make some money.

I played this when I was 16 when it came out. It's easily one of the best games for the Xbox. It did have a few faults like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ frame rate in a lot of areas and much smaller areas compared to the first game, but I had a lot of fun with it. I think this game should get a remake.

I actually liked Invisible War more than Mankind Divided and Human Revolution.

It had a way better plot and characters than the final two games. I played twelve hours of MD and I couldn't tell you one character other than the ones they brought back from HR. The Adam Jensen games had progressively ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ writing. HR just stole Robocop's plot and then ripped off N.G. Resonance to make Eliza. I was so bored of MD I couldn't be bothered to finish it. The ending of HR is so pointless I can't even remember what option I chose.

Also Invisible War wasn't a vent-crawling simulator and there weren't any of those terrible pre-fab animations where enemies just gawk at you like an idiot while you kill their buddy. Sometimes I would teleport out of the room or hallway I was in and reappear in a whole new area in front of guards. I hated the design of those new games.

And if fans are going to criticize Invisible War for having small levels, the newer games had some cramped hub words too, and you can't blame it on crappy console limitations either.

Eidos Montreal is simply not good at making Deus Ex or Thief games. When I think about Assassins Creed and Arkane's games in general I think people with French accents suck at stealth mechanics.

I agree that Deus Ex IW is a great stealth game, but I totally disagree that HR, MD and Thief 2014 are bad stealth games. I don't like the mundanity, transitions to a 3-person view and a terrible NPC accent in MD, but as a stealth, the game is very exciting (but I play with a hardcore mod). Thief 2014 is one of my most favorite stealth games, surpassing the previous parts in some aspects, I really like the style and gloomy atmosphere, and the additional difficulty settings make the gameplay very intense and turn the game into 100% stealth, without the possibility of easily eliminating enemies, for me this is a huge plus of this game. Arkane games bring too much aesthetic pleasure, so I can't judge them strictly, and these are great stealth games, but badly spoiled by excessive ease, but because of their splendor, I forgive them everything and come up with my own rules to balance and complicate the gameplay. For me, all these games are the best and I can't put them in order of preference. The only series of games that still remains in the first place for me is NOLF 1/2, neither Deus Ex, nor Thief, nor Dishonored reach its level, but this is more nostalgia than an objective assessment.

Nah, pretty sure the Fall is still worse lol.

Though I haven't dared to try it.

People's own opinion, invisible war is my favorite. The epic music, storyline, characters, amazing game IMO.

Agreed.

I can't even MAKE myself finish Human Revolution.

There really is no “bad” Deus Ex game (never played The Fall so idk can’t speak for that) Invisible War is definitely different than the original, but they’re all different and they each have their pluses and minuses. But what they all share is some really great writing and fascinating world building. I personally vibe more with the first game cause despite having some hard Sci-Fi elements towards the end of the game overall it’s very grounded. However I love all the games in this series to death and I would recommend just going in to have fun. Expectations are never a good thing to have for anything.

Human revolution has some crazy epic music though, as for the game itself, its not bad, just like mankind, neither one is bad, both are amazing games, i do however like deus ex and invisible war better though. But i like all deus ex games, even the fall and breach. But nothing will be better than the first two.

They're working on a new one right now, i sure hope its like cyberpunk 2077 style of gameplay.

Well what i mean is, open world, cyber sci-fi type of game. I do hope they add character creation though, would love to make my own character in a deus ex game.
