I'm my case (Xubuntu 18.04, proton, etc.), the drop button was off of the screen. For me, you could tell that the UI was being cutoff because the compass, at the top of the circular HUD wasn't visible, and the health and stamina/battery bars weren't fully visible.
I had to change a configuration file used by the game. Here's what I did:
In the file
Once the UI is smaller, the "Drop" button is viewable at the bottom left of the inventory, just where everyone kept saying.
My current settings in the relevant section are:
The other two values seem to relate to how big text is in the UI. I tried changing them too, but so far it looks like only FOV__d needs to be changed. I left the "AssumeUIScreen*" settings as their default value, as seen above, but they are kind of relevant.
I found mention of the setting at http://www.wsgf.org/dr/deus-ex-invisible-war, which is some sort of website for playing games in widescreen. Originally, I thought it was a resolution issue, where the entire view of the game was being cropped, but now I think it was only the UI.
I found this setting under the heading "Eyefinity / Surround Specific Solution & Issues", where it reads
Again, I only had to adjust "FOV__d" to get it right. I don't know exactly how the values work. I just jumped around until I found that 57 seemed to work the best. His numbers are too small for me, but, again, I didn't change the other values.
Hope this helps.
Keep in mind, you might have to adjust slightly for your own screen, but 50 is good for me.
ah, well, it was fun getting horribly shot up trying to sneak around and melee everyone, guess it's back to normal mode.... Thanks on the update!!!
BTW: While Steam Proton is way cool, the community is what makes it really especial. Thanks guys!
