Solution for Black Screen (Logitech Gaming Software)
If i start DE:IW after the diffcult selecting screen my game stops working and my screen went black.
i solved this problem by turning of Discord in the ARX setting of my Logitech Gaming Software.
here we go:
open your Logitech Gaming Software-> Settings-> General Tab-> Game integration, turn on "Show game integration customization view"
Now back to the main menu beside your mouse icon in the bottom bar (left) there is now a Keyboard, click it. Customize Arx (Wrench Icon)-> Applets (Left side) select Discord click Applet stop ( right Side) and select "never Start"

for me it solved the problem with the black screen, hope it helps some1 else.

Seeing as I have neither of those things and it does the black screen anyway. I'm none the wiser.

Wow, I was so certain Realtek drivers were the issue since the community guide here mentions them and both of my computers happen to have them. I have no idea why Discord (which I don't recall ever installing) has its applet enabled by default in Logitech Gaming Software.

Thanks so much anyway, you saved me from refunding a (probably) functional game!

Steam overlay did it for me. Might have been a different issue for me tho. Sometimes the overlay would pop up (fps counter) before the load screen when i loaded a new area. That would apparently cause the program to reference memory slot 0 according to the error message. But now the game works like a charm!!!

At least you can get into the game, I can't even load it.

Obviously I'm late to the party, but thank you - this fixed the problem for me.
