Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Game speed issue
Hi guys, I just installed Deus Ex as I had bought it last year but never played it yet!
I'm playing on a Win7 PC, and everything runs smooth... too smooth!
THe game graphic seems to be TOO fast, so running is a pain in the ass and dialogues are cut WAY before their natural end.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this?

Thanks!

That's an odd one, I imagine running the game in XP-mode would help but I'm unsure how to do that. I think adding -winxp as a launch option in the game's option in steam may do it, if not you can right click on the actual .exe file for the game and set compatibility mode to windows xp.
Is the issue that everything moves way too fast?
Try a reinstall if you haven't, I had the problem and it worked for me.
Game speed can be modified by editing the DeusEx.ini file (c:\deusex\system\DeusEx.ini)

Inside that file is a field literally called: GameSpeed=

By default it's set to 1.0. Set it to something lover (e.g. 0.5 or 0.7)
Hey, there is actually a fix for this, and its on the Steam fourm. Here is the link. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=808112
Hope this helps :)
Thanks guys! I'll try that out tomorrow and will let you know!
Same thing for me too, but the game for me was Just Cause 2 :D
Use the Deus ex Launcher by http://kentie.net/ and set the frame per second limit to 60 or 55 I had the same issue the launcher also can change ui scaling and resolution get it
i had this problem too, but they only appeared after i installed a gameplay mod that modified the DeusEx.ini, so if you were installing mods check that
I have speed problem too. Clean install. Dialogues are often cut.
Solution:
Just turn on V-Sync in graphics card sttings. This solved issue in my case.
Make sure you drag and drop the contents kenties launcher , into the system folder , which is in the deus ex root folder. The exe. file should replace the old exe. file. It's looking for the dll files that are in the sytem folder. not the root.

Here is how to do that for Intel HD cards: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005552.html
