What's the difference between normal and GotY?

I vaguely remember someone saying that GOTY had some extra multiplayer maps...not that many people still play the multiplayer aspect anymore.

If memory serves me right when i bought this game in 2000 around there i have the day 1 version with no updates no multiplayer. I had to instal 1.12 in order to install mulitiplayer and bug fixes and so on.

yea chunks you used to have to install ♥♥♥♥ in order to get onto multiplayer.

Back when it was first released, games didnt auto-update, or heck, nowhere near as many people had internet connections, so the idea of patching games was relatively new.

Things lke bug fixes are taken for granted so much nowadays, but only 14 years ago, the entire concept of patching was so different.

GOTY actually has some bugs compared to the normal version patched to v1112fm. The two most obvious are map glitches: the Buddha statue in Maggie Chow's apartment doesn't slide down to grant you access to the lab, and there's no music in the final Hell's Kitchen mission.

Honestly, I prefer playing the normal version rather than GOTY. But that's me.
