For one it'd be nice to have music with offical quality and for two why should we have to "steal" something that should already exist as a smart business practice.
Are you serious? Why? I like gog more than steam.
Well it's just as good imo. If not better due to the better audio quality.
I once owned the CD version of the GOTY game.
If the downloaded version of the music tracks are the same, I would want to mention that almost all zones have secondary soundtracks pieces for combat and conversations, and most of those are not available in the CD music tracks - you have to get a modtracker to access those through the music files from the game.
Regarding quality, for the music pieces that were not remixed, one could say that the original music files would be the highest quality since the CD version would have been made from them, right? Of course the remixed versions cannot be found from the music files.
Of the top of my head, the Title and UNATCO are given distinctively different remix versions. I like the original Title better over the remixed Title, but I prefer the remixed UNATCO over the original UNATCO.
Well personally I much prefer the PS2 version of the title music since an actual orchestra was used.
If you have bought the game from steam how can you be stealing it and by the way the official soundtrack cd has the same audio quality.
