Thank you, this ended up being the solution for me too. I always knew that characters reacted to your presence, but it's so cool to know that the game developers actually gave you the option to "push" (moreso, make the characters reorient themselves if you touch them long enough). Nice way to account for unexpected scenarios (like Miguel not following you if he doesn't have line of sight).

This is an old video I made like 11 years ago showing how. Miguel will spawn in the next map as long as he is "following"... so get him to follow then trap him behind a box in the cell. Just do that at the start of every map until you reach the helipad
Thank you for this. Initially i wanted to save him out of the goodness of my heart and because i was bored out of my mind. However then he surprised me by saving my ass from endless savescumming and looking like a complete idiot while failing to stealthily take down my enemies a multitude of times by poking them with his butter knife even when i had instructed him to stay put, effectively saving my life at the most critical moments when both me and my enemy were one hit away from death and i was on the verge of giving up all my hopes and dreams. He died a couple of times though. I guess im not as good as him.
